Where custom pin badges are used

A printed badge reaches a lot of people at a modest cost: open days, cause or values campaigns for the whole workforce, and handouts to visitors at trade shows. On a stand, a common combination is a metal pin for your team and a badge for the public.

On its own it is a small touch; as part of a set it makes more sense. Pinned to a piece of corporate clothing, on a backpack strap or inside a welcome kit for new starters, it becomes the finishing signature of the set.

Material, finish and branding

The safety-pin badge is tinplate with a protective film and full-colour digital printing. If you want something with more substance, the printed pin with a resin dome, 20 to 25 mm, keeps gradients and photographs; soft enamel leaves the colours below the raised metal and hard enamel is polished flush.

At these sizes the logo is handled as a scaled-down version of the brand: the symbol, a few colours and lines with room to breathe. If your identity does not hold up when reduced, we suggest a simplified version and you see it in the mock-up before approving anything. Supply the logo as a vector file if you can (SVG, AI or PDF).

How to choose custom pin badges

By how you will hand them out: For large-scale handouts at an event or campaign, a printed safety-pin badge. For your team, anniversaries or long-service awards, a hard enamel pin with a colour plating.
By your logo: If your logo has gradients, photography or many colours, choose digital printing: a badge or a resin-domed pin. Enamel needs flat colours.
By size: The badge comes in 25, 38 or 58 mm: the large one is visible from a distance at a trade show. On a lapel, the usual size is 20 to 25 mm; below 15 mm any text is hard to read.
By fastening: The badge has a safety pin. For pins you can choose a metal butterfly clutch, a rubber clutch, which grips better, or a magnet, so you do not pierce delicate or uniform garments.

What is the difference between a badge and a pin?

The badge is tinplate with a protective film, printed in full colour and fastened with a safety pin, in round formats of 25, 38 or 58 mm. The pin is metal, enamelled or printed with resin, and can be die-cut to the shape of your symbol.

Will my logo with gradients work on a badge?

Yes, the safety-pin badge is digitally printed in full colour, with gradients or photographs. Not in enamel, because each colour is a flat area separated by metal; the metal alternative is the printed pin with a resin dome.

Can it be made in the shape of my logo?

On metal pins the outline is die-cut to the shape of your symbol, even if it has gaps or is asymmetrical. Safety-pin badges come in standard round formats of 25, 38 or 58 mm.

What is the difference between hard and soft enamel?

With soft enamel the colours sit below the raised metal and you can feel the step when you touch it; it is cheaper and common at events. With hard enamel the colour is baked and polished flush, giving a smooth surface that stands up better to wear.

What information do I need to request a quote?

The quantity per design, the approximate size, the type of badge or pin, the fastening, the date you need them by and the logo, ideally as a vector file. With that we send you a quote and mock-up within 24 working hours, with no obligation.

When do I pay, and is there a minimum order?

You pay once you approve the mock-up, before production, and you can request samples beforehand. The minimum order is PLN 437.80 excl. VAT per quote, counting products only, and you can reach it with a single product or by combining several.
